Committing to Cook at Home & Beat the Urge to Order Take Out!
Blog Purpose: To cook at home every night and fight the urge to grab take out! I love to cook, but sometimes the convenience of grabbing fast food wins. I've decided to challenge myself to cook at home as much as possible and to share my journey with others! Hopefully other people can grab some great meals ideas from me!

Zac's Birthday Dinner! March 13th
So, today is Zac's birthday and instead of going out for dinner, I promised to make him whatever he wanted. All in all, it's a great menu, he picked things that I've made before. Well, except for his birthday cake! He wanted an Angel Food Cake. Now, I could have taken the easy way out and made a box mix, but that's just not me. Always try things from scratch first! I was so nervous, I made it last night, just in case it was a flop and I had to improvise. But, much to my surprise and pleasure...it turned out!!!!!!! Well, at least looks wise, we have yet to taste it! So, anyways, following is what he picked for dinner!
Bacon Wrapped Pork Medallions
Crash Hot Potatoes
Broccoli & Cheese Casserole
Angel Food Cake
Fluffy White Frosting

About Time...I'm Back!!
You know...I kept saying to myself, trying to start a menu blog during the Holidays was not a good idea. And, it turned out to be! LOL! As you can see, my last post was right around Thanksgiving, things just got so hectic and I didn't cook a whole lot. But, it's a New Year and I'm determined to get back on track!!
This new post will be a mixture of meals I did manage to cook last week and my meal plan for this coming week. I promise to do better than my first post and you may see some of those meals being repeated here. I won't be following any certain days of the week, just posting what I have planned. We usually never feel like having what's planned for that day and figured it would be easier to have a list to choose from. Clicking on the title of the food should take you to the recipe, if it doesn't, it's probably a personal recipe which I would be glad to share with anyone. (If I followed one that is!) I will post pictures of each item after I make them. I'm such a visual person, I love to see what foods/meals look like!
Any questions...just ask!

Thanksgiving Treats!
I thought I'd include a post of what I'm contributing to my family's Thanksgiving feast this year. My mom usually takes care of the main meal, while the rest of us fix the desserts. However, this year I have volunteered to do the mashed potatoes as well as various yummy desserts!
So, it's the day before Thanksgiving & I'm adding to my list of recipes!
I will be making this as a side dish:
Broccoli Salad
For the mashed potatoes I will be making this recipe:
Slow Cooker Mashed Potatoes
I will also be making (or have already made) these following desserts:
Pumpkin Roll
Pumpkin Gingerbread
Vanilla Pumpkin Pie
Pumpkin Pie
Pecan Pie Bars
Apple Cranberry Tart
Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars
I am no longer making the Pumpkin Cheesecake bars, but I will leave the link & picture up because these absolutely rock!
